Artiste Who Threatened PNM Voters Avoids Jail

  • Artiste who threatened political supporters on TikTok bonded for two years— avoids jail time in viral 'tie-strap them' video

Trinibad artiste Bradlee “Sai” Dhanaram has been bonded for two years in the sum of $5,000 after posting threatening TikTok videos targeting political supporters just weeks before the General Election.

The 35-year-old Agapito Trace Santa Flora resident must maintain good behavior during this period, or he will face sentencing.

Dhanaram was arrested on April 11 and charged with making statements likely to influence public opinion in a way that could endanger public safety.

The charges arose from a video posted on April 8, where Dhanaram threatened members from a “PNM stronghold,” claiming he had invested in 100,000 tie traps to use the night before elections.

After appearing before Siparia Magistrate Gloria Jasmath on April 16, Dhanaram pleaded guilty and was granted own bail of $10,000.

His attorney, Frank Gittens, told the court that Dhanaram had since issued a public apology on TikTok, which went viral.
