Leh we talk the things about how the major media houses in this country does shit the bead when it comes to reporting the things that are important and directly have an effect on our lives, our safety, our children's well being and by extension, the good governance of our country!
Just look at this headline in the Sunday papers. BIG BIG picture on the front page about the bacchanal and koochoor going on inside the UNC...
and then if yuh put on yuh bifocals and peep way, way down below that yuh see the item that is a lil foot note directing yuh to page 3.
To me that lil "footnote" item that Page 3 story should be the one that is in BIG BOLD Captions on the front page. Because politicians come and go, they live inside their ivory towers and pink palaces and doh move around us and and in our communities, they also doh have the power of snatching your freedom from you as yuh walking down the street like THE POLICE DO.
So when there's a story about a police officer held in Venezuela for CHILD TRAFFICKING it should be the thing that is blasted on the front of the papers, bell should ring (looking at you madam prolific bell ringer) it should get bigger headlines, so parents, children and others will know that the monsters move amongst us and is prolly a face they would normally trust and not strangers.
THE ITTY BITTY FOOT NOT SHULDA BE BIGGER
But then maybe the media house know what will grab our attention,
Maybe they know what we will sit in the front gallery and de rum shops and flap our gums about
Maybe they know we as a people are not at all serious about law and order unless is bullet flying and blood flowing; and worse,
Maybe they know we doh seem to give a damn about the well being of our children beyond worrying how may "passes" they get and what prestige school they pass for..
Maybe they know we are a jokey status chasing setta easily distracted, nine-day memory bacchanalists
Maybe they really KNOW us so they feeding us what they know we goh gobble up and swallow whole.
SO MAYBE THEY JUST GIVING US WHAT WE WANT!
