Methanex to close T&T methanol plant indefinitely

Methanex Corporation announced it will indefinitely idle its Titan methanol plant in Trinidad due to an inability to secure a new natural gas supply contract with the National Gas Company.
The plant, with an annual capacity of 860,000 tonnes, will be preserved to allow for potential future restart. Approximately 140 permanent employees will be affected. Titan joins the already-idled Atlas plant.
